Dr. Tecoy Porter Sr. is a leader, speaker and motivator noted for his innovative leadership skills, spiritual insight and financial acumen. He shares the role as Senior Pastor of the Genesis Church in Sacramento, California with his brother Dr. Ellington Porter. He organized the building project of the Dr. Robert Porter Family Life Center – a multi-million dollar, multi purpose facility in honor of his late father. The center houses worship services, athletic leagues, and various outreach services for the community.
Dr. Porter has been featured on top Christian media outlets as TBN, TCT, CTN and LeSea Broadcasting, speaking about his latest book release, ‘Releasing Your Inner Treasure: 8 Kingdom Keys to Unlocking the Wealth Within You’. He has also been a contributing expert author, panelist and keynote speaker on subjects concerning finance, leadership, and personal development from a Christian perspective.
Dr. Porter has received numerous local and national recognitions and awards for his spiritual and social leadership. In 2008, he was the recipient of the New Breed Gospel Preachers in Los Angeles, CA along with national honorees as TD Jakes, Billy Graham, Benny Hinn and Joel Osteen.
Prior to his pastorate, Dr. Porter was employed in the Information Technology field as a trainer, manager, and consultant to a variety of companies in Northern California. In March of 2001, he retired from his career in Information Technology to work full-time in the ministry.
He is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a BA in Music and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). He holds an Honorary Doctorate from St. Thomas Christian College in Jacksonville, Florida and is a doctoral candidate at the Regent University School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship in Virginia Beach, VA.
Dr. Porter is happily married to his church sweetheart, Karlette. They are the proud parents of three beautiful children.
